Buzz Does

See how we make a positive impact

Buzz Does is our long-term innovative strategy to help us fulfil our social and environmental obligations as a business and exceed our responsibilities to the wider community and future generations.

Through our collective work as a team, Buzz does more than marketing to education. We give back to our local community by supporting schools, businesses and charities.

“As a business, we want to work consciously and leave a genuine impact on the world around us. Through Buzz Does, we’re able to assess our environmental impact and take measures to improve it. We also want to work with community projects that support people and organisations around us.”

Michael McVerry Managing Director

Protecting our planet has never been more important. To make sure we’re meeting and exceeding our responsibilities as a business, we’ve started to implement a number of measures to reduce our environmental impact.

  • Switched to sustainable office supplies from our local zero-waste shop.
  • Recycle our waste using Hubba.
  • Participated in the Eco-I North West Programme with the University of Liverpool to better understand our carbon footprint and develop a clear action plan to guide our next steps.
  • Continue to educate our team on our environmental impact so that we each understand the steps we can take to lower our carbon footprint.

We’re passionate about giving back to our local community, whether it’s through charity fundraising, volunteering, or supporting schools and their learners.

  • Support local businesses by shopping locally.
  • Sponsor a local children’s football team.
  • Delivered an interactive session on marketing for Year 8 learners at Ladybridge High School.
  • Worked with Ladybridge High School on their Bolton Rewind, Regenerate Project.

Creating and maintaining a supportive business culture is really important to us. We’re continually looking to expand the support available for our team both personally and professionally.

  • Introduced a Buzz Employee of the Month award.
  • Shortlisted as finalists for the BIBA’s Employer of the Year award, a great achievement that celebrated our supportive business culture.
  • Joined the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce to provide more training and upskilling opportunities for team members.
  • Developed a ‘passions’ project where our team members are given time to pursue a personal development area they are passionate about.

Supporting our team’s mental health and wellbeing is a top priority for us. Below are some of the steps we’ve introduced so far.

  • Introduced 2 mental health leads who are responsible for developing a wellbeing strategy and ensuring team members feel supported at all times.
  • Provided team members with access to free counselling, wellbeing resources and support through the MY Healthy Advantage app and online portal.
  • Offered an interest-free loan to team members to support them financially.
